New York {Part Two}: Am I in a movie?

We had a long "to-do" list and had to fit it all in a week before our momma headed back. The first walk from the subway to my sister's apartment felt unreal. I felt like I had stepped in a movie set and kept saying things like "Whoa! Look at that building! That street! The trees!" I mean, it doesn't get any more touristy than that, folks. We walked EVERYWHERE. If we weren't on the subway or eating Shake Shack...we were on our feet. Which is a great thing because all those Shake Shack runs...yikes. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves, with a few comments here and there. So, here we go.

^^ Columbus Circle. Gorg!

^^ Food trucks EVERYWHERE...holla! This particular one was the most colorful, fun, patriotic one I saw.

^^ I guess we like our polka dots. Also, the humidity is killer.

^^ The Temple, Lincoln Center, The Juilliard School and this pretty view are all down the street from where my sister and bro in-law lived. Awesome, right?

Life lately, according to my iPhone pictures

^^ I went to dinner with the girls last week. It was so fun to catch up and see what adventures these girls are up to. We're all super busy and hardly see each other (despite living in the same little town...) so it's nice to get together for a little girls night! These girls are so dear to me.

^^ Baby Zelda Olivia Harris arrived!! She is cute as a button and perfect! We love her so much. I can't believe Gaby is a mommy now. I'm so happy for their cute little family and as a best friend of the mom, I have all the rights to call this little girl my niece. So...call me aunt Mariana!
^^ I die for her. She is the sweetest.

^^ I started an internship with JJ Cole as a Graphic/Product designer, and let me tell you it is the best thing I've done as a Graphic Designer. It has reassured me that I chose the right field. Though tough and challenging, it pushes me to try new things. I absolutely love it.
^^ I am one lucky girl. Everyday I thank Heavenly Father for sending him my way. I feel so blessed to be dating this remarkable man. Plus he's pretty cute too.

New York {Part One}: Monica's Graduation

Excuse me while I brag about my sister and I hope you like pictures. The main reason we headed out to NY was for her grad-school graduation. I've said it once and I'll say it again, she's my hero. She is amazing at what she does and excels at everything. Especially when it comes to education. I love that she has goals, and accomplishes them {she wanted to get her Master's degree from Columbia University and she did}. I love her passion for learning. I love that she is in constant effort to accomplish any task that is given to her. But mostly I love that she is my sister and will be forever.
Congratulations, Monica! We sure love you and are so proud of you!

^^ Her college ceremony was held at the BEAUTIFUL Cathedral of St John Divine

^^ You try jumping in a pencil skirt.
^^ Some of her friends from her program.

^^ Columbia University Commencement Ceremony. Probably the best ceremony I've ever been to.

^^ This is was her building. Hogwarts, anyone??

^^ Because who wouldn't love a graduation picture in Times Square?

A glimpse of summer

Hello! I'm back. Literally. I traveled to NYC to visit my sister and brother in-law, and was there for 3.5 weeks. It was the best! You really only need about a week to see the "touristy" things so...you can now call me a New Yorker. Juuust kidding. But I really did get to experience the culture and get a feel for what it'd be like to live in the city. All I can say is, I'll see you again, NY. I'll post pictures of my trip soon. For now, here's a glimpse of my summer...
